I am Harikrishna S Thota, and my professional journey has led me to the role of Scientist at the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI) in Bengaluru. My expertise lies in the realm of Electrical engineering, Instrumentation and Control, and I hold a Chartered Engineer certification from Intitution of Engineers India [IEI]
My educational background includes a Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree in Electrical Measurements and Instrumentation, which I received from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Jadavpur University in 2011. Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Andhra University in 2009.
Since I joined CMTI in 2012, I have been actively engaged in a variety of applied research and product development projects, each at different stages of technological readiness (TRLs), ranging from 7 to 9. Some of my notable contributions include the design and development of projection micro-stereolithography-based micro 3D fabrication systems, the development of ultra-stiff, ultra-precision turning machines, innovation in the field of microneedle array-based biopotential electrodes, and the development of sophisticated algorithms and software for ultra-precision measurement systems.
Presently, my primary focus revolves around the exciting domains of Smart Manufacturing, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), EDGE-AI-based Digital Twins, and the implementation of Industry 4.0 principles within the context of machine tools and metal casting foundries. This role allows me to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in the manufacturing technology field, ensuring that our industry remains at the forefront of innovation and efficiency.
B.E. (E.E.E. 2009) from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
M.E. (Electrical Engineering, 2011) From Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
P.G. Specialization: Electrical Measurements and Instrumentation.
Currently Pursuing PhD in IIT Tirupati In Digital Twins and EDGE Computing Domain under External Registration Program.
