Materials & Metallurgy Group under the Centre for Special Purpose Machines vertical is equipped for carrying out Materials characterization comprising of Chemical and Mechanical properties. The activities of the group is to synchronize and strengthen materials related R & D activities for on-going in-house R & D projects by maintaining stringent quality control and document control through NDT and Heat treatment procedures as well as Grant-in-aid projects. The availability of exhaustive collection of Certified Reference Standards ensures the reliability of the test results. M & M Group offers services to industries in identifying the root cause of failure in engineering components and associated fabrication processes through characterization and analysis. Dissemination of knowledge through training as well as guidance to Human resources is actively taken up.
