  • Metal Additive Manufacturing
  • Laser based processing
  • Manufacturing Processes
  • Weight Reduction of Pickup Cargo Assembly | May’22-Mar’23
  • The benchmarked-based statistical Light Weight Index (LWI) technique is developed for predicting the world in class optimum weight. For these four statistical Lightweight Index numbers are derived based on the geometrical dimensions. This strategy is used for the target setting. To achieve the target, the Value Analysis approach for Cargo assembly is to redesign and make Refresh Cargo assembly.

Numerical & Experimental Investigation on Laser Powder Bed Fusion of High strength AA7075 Aluminium Alloy | Dec’19–Jun’21

  • To study an influence of process parameter on defects formation in Laser Powder Bed Fusion(LPBF) based

additive manufacturing of AA7075 Aluminium Alloy

  • The aim is to develop a numerical model in OpenFoam and conduct experiments to study thermal behaviour of LPBF process
  • Numerical model in OpenFoam will be created to simulate thermal & solidification behaviour of LPBF of AA7075
  • Ex-situ post-solidification using Synchrotron X-ray radiography & micro-CT of defects like porosity and cracks
  • Mitigation of defects by using base plate heating and remelting strategies

Design and Development of Combined Mecanum and Conventional Wheel Operated Mobile Platform | July’17 –April’18

  • Designed and manufactured mobile platform using a set of Mecanum wheels combined with a set of conventional wheels
  • Developed mechanism for drive-change from Mecanum wheels for smooth terrain to conventional wheel for rough terrain
  • Improved the performance and efficiency of mobile robot by reducing frictional forces with help of changing mechanism

Rapid Wear and Tear of Tension Roller Shaft Assembly Used in Threads Winding Machine | September’19 – January’20

(Technopark@IITK, Real World Engineering Problem- Threads India Ltd.)

  • Used Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, and control (DMAIC) tool to tackle the problem of fast wear and tear of indigenous

Tension Roller Shaft Assembly compared to imported one from Taiwan

  • Defined and measured phase involved quantification of problem, data collection and bench-marking by using Test Rig
  • Test Rig was developed to measure a free rotation of indigenous and imported assembly by using Photo Reflection sensor
  • Analyzed problem by making Fish bone diagram (cause and effect diagram) and Why-Why analysis
  • Improvised design by selecting a proper Geometrical Dimensioning, tolerancing (GD& T) and suitable Fits for assembly

Regenerating Energy Using Bicycle With Flywheel (Design Engineering Project) | August’15 – March’17

  • Designed a Bicycle with Flywheel and Clutch mechanism arrangement using Unigraphics NX 9.0
  • Developed a Flywheel arrangement operated using a chain and clutch mechanism assembled on bicycle as a part of KERS
  • Tested at different speeds to measure an extra rotation of wheel as a part of recovery of energy using Photo-Reflecting sensor

Blind Pocket Milling using CO 2 Laser (ME698B) | January’19 – April’19

  • Performed laser machining on Acrylic & Titanium to study an influence of process parameters on roughness, and depth of cut
  • Found that depth of machining vary with laser power and number of scans and inversely varies with cutting speed of laser
  • Found that surface quality of machined surface varies inversely with number of scan and varies linearly with laser power

Cracking in Metal Additive Manufacturing (ME670A) | July’19 – November’19

  • Studied the main four mechanisms of cracking that produces due to rapid heating and cooling of metal during process of AM
  • Image analysis of cracks and quantification of cracks were carried out to investigate a types of crack based on initiation point
  • Hot Isostatic Process and Pre-heating are generally used as mitigation of cracks in Aluminum alloys

Parameter Optimization of Assembly Line Balancing Using Genetic Approach (ME765A) | January’19 – April’19

Recommended system as a predictive analysis module to increase sales for an exhibition organizer | Sept’20 – Oct’20
