  • He is a senior scientist with rich experience in planning, execution and management of multidisciplinary applied research and development works in advanced manufacturing, resulting in industry ready products and solutions.   Currently he is heading “Centre for Smart manufacturing, precision machine tools and aggregates“.  Over past 33 years at CMTI, he has been working for Technology and Machine/Product development activities (TRL3 to TRL8), and developed more than 30 machines/products in the following domains;
    • Ultra-precision machine tools and it’s Aggregates
    • Smart machines and equipments
    • Smart Manufacturing and Industry4.0 solutions to Manufacturing industries
    • Special purpose machines (SPMs)
    • Development of machines, mechanisms and processes for Nano finishing, Micro machining & fabrication, Nano Metrology & Characterization,
    • Inspection, Calibration & Testing of machine tools
    • Vibration & Noise Analysis and condition monitoring of machines and rotating equipment’s.  Dynamic and Thermal behaviour of machines

    Has contributed significantly in establishment of Nano Manufacturing technology Centre, Smart manufacturing development and demonstration centre and Industry Accelerator at CMTI and execution of Technology and product development works meeting technology gaps in our country in high precision machines, machine aggregates and smart manufacturing

    Has been also providing support to industries/academia in product development through services/consultancy and skill development.  Has established experimental learning Centre in Industry 4.0 at CMTI and involved in many skill development programs in Industry 4.0, benefiting thousands of engineering students and industry professionals

    Has represented in Sectional committees of BIS & CII, project evaluation committee of DSIR and DST and in BOS of engineering institutions.

  • Graduated in Mechanical engineering with Master in Business administration. Has been trained at Fraunhofer Institute of production Technology (IPT), Aachen, Germany in development of ultraprecision machines and ultraprecision technology. Undergone training at Oklahoma State University (OSU), USA in technology development for smart machining.

  • Has major role in establishment of Nano Manufacturing Technology Centre at CMTI having 16 world class nano technology labs. More than 25 industry ready products & process has been developed from the centre
  • PI/PL for establishment of Smart Manufacturing demonstration and development Cell at CMTI. A smart metal working shop has been established. Over 12 IIoT products has been developed and development works are continuing.
  • PI/PL for establishment Experimental Learning labs in various technologies driving Industry 4.0, at CMTI
  • Provided over 300 consultancy services to industries in; “Machine Tool Testing, Dynamic and Thermal behaviour, Noise/vibration & condition monitoring of machines and Nano material characterisation”.
  • He has received FIE Foundation Award in 2013 as Principal investigator for the innovative Machine tool development “Intelligent Ultra Precision Turning Machine”.
  • Has received FIE Foundation Awards in 2019 as Principal investigator for the innovative machine tool development “Ultra-stiff Diamond Turning Machine, Nanoshape T250”
  • National Survey on performance of CNC machine tools – Software development (front end & back end), Data analytics and specific report generation for IMTMA, Machine Tool OEMs, Control system OEMs, etc
  • Conducted several training programs on various advanced manufacturing technologies
